VolunteerFoster HomesARCF can always use good foster homes. Animals typically are fostered for anywhere from two weeks to four months, depending on the amount of work or care that needs to be done, or how long it takes to find an appropriate home. Qualified cat homes should be set up to accommodate indoor only care. Some cats will just need a place to stay while they are waiting for a home, others may be recovering from health issues. We will not foster animals with you that are inappropriate to your situation. We also have occasional need for “emergency” homes for cats in transition. An emergency home will have the animal for two weeks maximum. PhotographersWe are always in need of photographers (amateurs welcome!) to take digital pictures of the various cats in our foster homes for our website. All you need is a car, a digital camera, and a love of cats. TransportationWe sometimes need people to transport animals, materials, and medicines, etc. Often, but not always, these trips can be planned ahead. You will need a car. ResearchARCF checks the homes where our animals will live, before and sometimes after an animal is placed. We need people to check addresses of potential adopters. You will need a car. OfficeWe have a variety of light “office” tasks that need to be done, even though we don’t have an office. This work includes stuffing envelopes for the newsletter, writing letters, entering data, etc. |
